Additional PS3 Trouble Shoot Problems - Entertainment - Video Games

<p>If you've already been undertaking PS3 troubleshooting then you've probably gone through all the steps. You've already done everything form checking cables to writing down led error codes. By now you're probably read to get right into things and start to fix it. If you're skilled enough you might even be able to fix it yourself, but there are a few things you need to know first.</p>

<p>PS3 troubleshooting doesn't always end well regardless of how skilled you are. Some early 30g and 60g models were subject to hardware failures due to bad manufacturers and poor materials. Others were design incompetence and simple oversight. Every console has problems so don't think that it's particularly worse off than others.</p>

<p>However the PS3 is unarguably the most complex of the 3 systems on the market. First off make sure that you have the correct model number written down. Each variation of the PS3 has used different internal parts and most of them only work in certain combinations. Secondly make sure that you have the right tools before commencing repairs, and finally memorize your guide to disassembling it.</p>

<p>If you're a do it yourself person then you might want to start working after PS3 troubleshooting. While it may seem like a good idea prepare thoroughly or you will simply make things worse. The PlayStation 3 is a very complex machine and if you make a mistake while disassembling it you can ruin your day. That being said there are fewer screws than you would expect and the units constructions is solid.</p>

<p>Just remember to take it apart on a plastic mat or surface covered in newspaper. Static electricity can easily take out your system before you can fix it. It's not recommended that the average user do this but if you have the skills, patience, tools, and time you can go for it.</p>

<p>For those that are not so inclined to fix the problem themselves they will most likely seek out a service shop to tend to it. Aside from the led codes and the heat problems there were many issues with the initial PS3 models Blu-ray drive. These have since been resolved but suffice to say they were very disruptive and annoying. Some would play games and not movies while others would play movies and not games.</p>

<p>Then you had the odd ones that would play movies, PS2, and PS1 games but no PS3 games. As you can see, very disruptive and annoying but they were resolved in the newer PS3 slim redesign. Unfortunately many of us have the old monster box model as it's affectionately called and upgrading just isn't worth the price tag. After all as long as the old behemoths we own continue to work why should we upgrade?</p>
